Each year, I participate in the Birdtober/Inktober drawing initiatives and create a calendar of the 12 best illustrations that come from the challenge. In 2022, I decided to work on only 12, and take more time on each drawing than I usually have in the past. The focus was on North American birds, some of my favorites, and also exploring texture, background, composition, and experimenting with lighting.
